Net Net Books — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Net Net Books (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. Name, email address, and password when you create an account.

Financial data. Transactions, account balances, categorizations, and other bookkeeping data you enter, import, or connect to the Service (for example, through a bank feed).

Payment information. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

Usage data. Basic technical information such as device type, browser, IP address, and how you interact with the Service, used for security and to improve the product.

Advertising and cookie data. On our public website and sign-up pages, advertising partners collect information through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Power features you use, including automated and AI-assisted categorization
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and updates
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising (see Section 5)

We do not sell your personal information or your financial data. We never use or share your financial data for advertising.

3. AI Features

Some features use artificial intelligence to categorize transactions or generate suggestions. Your data may be processed by third-party AI service providers solely to provide these features. We do not permit these providers to use your data to train their models.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, payment processing, bank data aggregation, AI processing), under contracts limiting their use of your data
  • Advertising partners (Google and Reddit), limited to the website and sign-up information described in Section 5 — never your financial data
  • Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety
  • A successor entity if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy)

5. Cookies and Advertising Trackers

We advertise Net Net Books on other websites and use advertising trackers to measure how well those ads work. Specifically, we use:

  • Google Ads (the Google tag), provided by Google LLC
  • Reddit Pixel, provided by Reddit, Inc.

Where they run. These trackers load only on our public pages — the home page, guides, and the product demo — and on the confirmation page shown right after you sign up. They are not loaded inside the signed-in app where your books and financial data live.

What they collect. These partners may set or read cookies and similar identifiers in your browser and receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit on our site, the ad or website that referred you, and the fact that you created an account. They may combine this with information they already have about you — for example, if you are signed in to your Google or Reddit account — to attribute sign-ups to ads, measure ad performance, and show you ads for Net Net Books elsewhere. Their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policies: Google and Reddit.

What they never receive. We do not send your financial data, transactions, uploaded statements, or account contents to advertising partners.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers — the Service works normally either way. You can also control personalized ads directly with each partner: Google My Ad Center and Reddit privacy settings.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or accounting purposes. You can export your data at any time before closing your account.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data through the app or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as under the California Consumer Privacy Act or Washington's My Health My Data Act, if applicable). 9. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app before the changes take effect.
